Rooibos Oats Recipe

Did you know you can now make a bowl of power-packed, hearty rooibos oats? Oh yeah, it’s absolutely true. Say goodbye to the days when oats used to be just that – simple, rather boring with no special flavours.

Move into the future with rooibos-infused recipes that will have your kids asking for more. Read on to make your own steel cut oats with red rooibos tea, follow this super easy rooibos oats recipe to have your kids asking for seconds!

How to make Rooibos oats

To start with, simply rinse and drain one cup of steel cut oats of your choice. Then put this in a pot with one cup of water and two cups of red rooibos tea. It’s recommended that you use our red espresso® Rooibos Capsules to make your two cups with for best results. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to a low-medium temperature.

Then, continue to cook this for about twenty minutes or until the oats are nice and tender, to your liking. Now, to top it off and make it extra special and oh-so-yummier, be sure to serve the bowl with a generous amount of coconut milk and/or a drizzle of coconut nectar. If you or your kids aren’t that into coconut, you can always use good old delicious maple syrup.

Even without adding the final touch, this base recipe in itself is extremely good and similarly healthy all thanks to the added goodness of Rooibos. Rooibos oats is the perfect way to start your day, or have your kids off to a fantastic school-day. Given the health benefits of Rooibos tea as combined with the power of pure oats, there are absolutely no downsides to this recipe.
