Rooibos Chai Latte

Posted on May 12, 2016

Rooibos is the healthier, caffeine free alternative to your traditional coffees that can be recreated into many different kinds of drinks - both hot and cold. One such drink is the Rooibos Chai Latte.

A Latte is similar to a Cappuccino in that it consists of a single or double shot of espresso and milk. The one and only difference between the two is that the Latte is made with less foamed milk than the Cappuccino.

The Latte originates in Italy and has been reinvented somewhat by the rest of the international world.  One of the variations one finds is the use of chai instead of coffee.  This has been further changed with the invention of the Rooibos Chai.

Rooibos is in fact a healthier option if you're trying to cut down on your caffeine intake - so is Chai. Both are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals culminating in the Rooibos Chai Latte, a generally healthy and delicious drink, ready to keep you warm in the upcoming Winter months.

You need:

To make said the Rooibos Chai Latte, you will need a 240ml latte glass, Chai Latte powder, a double shot of red espresso® Rooibos and some milk.

Prepare:

First, add a single scoop or 25grams of the Chai Powder into the latte glass and add the double shot (60ml) of the red espresso. Once you have stirred the Chai powder and double shot espresso well, add 140ml of steamed milk and foam into the latte glass.

If you're looking for something a little more moustache-making, add extra foam to your drink and sprinkle some cinnamon and drizzle some honey over the drink to give it that extra delicious flavour.

If you're interested in making this deliciously healthy hot drink one winters evening, you can purchase the red espresso® capsules on our store, as well as the Chai Latte powder and honey.
