Brewing coffee with an espresso machine is a "ritual" for many coffee lovers; with the preparation, grinding coffee beans, right down to getting the milk steamed to a perfect temperature.
However, we are often pressed for time and don't get to enjoy the ritual of brewing a fresh cup. So, when you are pressed for time, you can brew an ESE pod in your espresso machine! 'ESE' is short for 'Easy Serving Espresso', that's right, because it's easy to use!
Yes, it is far from enjoying a cup of coffee brewed with freshly ground beans, but, it works well, saves time, and still tastes great! We at CCD enjoy pods when time is lacking, or when we're feeling a bit lazy and need a quick kick.
To brew an ESE pod in your espresso machine, you need a single dose filter basket (as seen below), and of course, an ESE pod. Some machines might need pod adaptor kits, so be sure to check if your machine has the capacity to run a pod, if you decide to take this route.
Brewing the pod is quite easy - intead of putting ground coffee in the filter basket, you put a pod in and run a brewing cycle. Now, this isn't a groundbreaking life hack, but it is a quick way to brew a coffee, and even a way to get to know your espresso machine a bit better.
