Do we really need all that caffeine?

Posted on June 25, 2019

Aside from its heavenly taste, the primary reason that coffee is the world’s favourite drink is due to its ability to wake you up when you’re tired.

But actually, your body does a pretty good job of that on its own. When you wake up in the morning, your pituitary gland gets your body to start producing cortisol, which is your body’s own extra-strong source of caffeine. This means that unless you don’t produce enough cortisol, drinking coffee in the morning probably won’t help wake you up. On the bright side though, you still get the delicious taste! And while you can’t control your cortisol, you can control what you drink! Visit our shop for tasty coffee capsules and our blog for all things coffee-related.
